SUPPORT OUR CHILDREN

How you can help

Its easy to get involved, you can do as much or as little as you like.  Attend one of our 6 meetings a year to listen to our head and ask questions. Help to make teas and coffees at our regular parent or community events, help organise an event, attend an event or simply donate to a great cause.

One of the oldest secondary school in the country

The John Roan School was founded in 1677 with a distinguished history of supporting educational excellence for the young people in Greenwich.

What is the JRSA
We are the John Roan School Association, a Parent and Teachers Association who meet every half term (6 times a year).  In 2020 the JRSA moved from being a friends group to a charity, which means there is no taxable profit and all money raised from the JRSA will be invested into the school.  All donors who are income tax payers are eligible for gift aid from the government and will increase all donations by 25%. (tax payers will be asked to fill in a disclaimer)

Our board of Trustees invite the friends of the JRSA to meet with the Executive Head, Cath Smith, to have open communications about the school life and education of our children.

OUR LAST FUNDRAISER

120 Challenge

The John Roan School and the JRSA launched the 120 Challenge March 2020, a large-scale fundraiser to supply laptops to students who are unable to access online learning at home.

A new laptop costs £240, but thanks to a price match offer from United Learning, they matched every £120 raised with another £120. We reached our target of £14,400 which enabled us to buy 120 laptops.  United Learning and The John Roan Foundation then doubled our financial total to buy an additional 120 new laptops to support the education of our students.
