GET INVOLVED

The JRSA supports the school in every parent and community event.  With teas and coffees at parent evenings, refreshments and raffles our school plays and concerts or a friendly smile at open days.  If you are interested in signing up to help out at the next event please fill this form in here and we will add you to our list.

Due to Covid 19 all future parent evenings have been cancelled but we will let you know the next event we get up and running

VOLUNTEERING

Last year we saw huge success with our Student revision buddies group.  Every Tuesday during GCSE week a group of JRSA parents with confidence and knowledge of different subjects offered their time to help students revise in a break out area at Westcombe Park site.  Adults didn't need qualifications in the subject just a passion and patience.  Mark Rogers, Head of Curriculum gave Adult Study Buddies a workshop on what to do and a rota was then set up for the 4 weeks around the exams.  It greatly helped the students concentrate on what they needed to do, especially those taking languages.

 HELPING STUDENTS

The JRSA has different goals every year to raise funds for each department of the school.  Last year we raised just over £5000 through events, raffles, donations, lottery and Easyfundraiser.  We supported many departments throughout the school. Here are a few projects we invested in.

  • Community outreach programme

  • Year 11 boat party

  • Rock climbing for 8 vulnerable students with SEN

  • Art materials for exam students to practice

  • Two year 12 students to visit Auschwitz

  • Years subscription to specialist magazines for 6th form students

  • Sports equipment for Maze Hill Site lunchtime activities

  • Scientific calculators & Maths equipment for exam students
